Privacy Policy: Menu Sync for HubSpot
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Menu Sync for HubSpot ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that copies the layout of your HubSpot sidebar menu from one HubSpot portal to another. It is developed by Sjardo (sjardo.nl). This policy explains what the extension does with data.
Summary
The extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share your personal data. It has no server, no account system, no analytics and no tracking. Everything it saves stays in your own browser.
What the extension stores
When you click "Save current menu as default", the extension saves the following in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local):
- the structure of your HubSpot sidebar menu: the identifiers of the pinned items, their order, and the names of any groups;
- the display names of those items;
- the ID and name of the portal the menu came from;
- the date and time you saved it.
This data stays on your device. It is not sent to the developer or to any third party. You can remove it at any time by uninstalling the extension.
What the extension reads and sends
The extension only runs when you open its popup on a HubSpot page and click a button. When it runs, it:
- reads the portal ID from the address of the current tab;
- sends requests from the page to HubSpot's own menu endpoints on the same domain you are already using, to read your current sidebar menu and, if you click "Apply to this portal", to write the saved menu to that portal. These requests use your existing, signed-in HubSpot session. The extension never sees or stores your password and does not use an API key;
- requests your portal's display name from HubSpot, for display in the popup only.
These requests go to HubSpot only, exactly as if you had changed the menu yourself in HubSpot. They are subject to HubSpot's own privacy policy.
The extension does not access your contacts, companies, deals, tickets, emails or any other CRM records.
Optional export and import
Under "Advanced" you can export your saved default as a JSON file and import such a file later. The file is created and saved by your browser on your device. If you share it with someone, that is your own choice. The developer never receives it.
Permissions
storage: to keep your saved default in your browser.activeTab: to give the extension temporary access to the HubSpot tab you are viewing, only when you open the popup.scripting: to run the extension's bundled code inside that tab, to read and update your sidebar menu.
The extension requests no permanent access to any website. It does not load or run code from external servers.
Data sharing and sale
The developer does not receive, sell, rent or share any user data. The extension does not use data for advertising, credit or lending decisions, or any purpose other than syncing your sidebar menu.
Children
The extension is a tool for working in HubSpot and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If the extension's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the date above will change. Material changes will also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
